Just When You Thought the Staten Island Congressional Race Couldn’t Get Any Weirder…


The Republican nominee to replace Vito Fossella, Frank Powers, died in his sleep yesterday. So a father-son race just wasn’t meant to be, even if the Libertarian Party had nominated Frank’s son Fran to run against him. The race went from potentially two Powers, to one, to none at all.

Our sincere condolences go to Fran Powers and his family.
